Dr. Karl Michel earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Florida International University. After receiving his undergraduate degree, he attended Temple University’s prestigious School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, where he received his Doctorate degree. Subsequent to completing his medical education & training, he moved to Michigan where he completed an advanced & extensive surgical residency in Orthopedic trauma and reconstructive procedures of the foot and ankle at St. Johns Providence Hospital’s notable podiatric reconstructive and trauma surgical residency program. During residency, Dr. Michel attended training courses throughout the country focused on foot and ankle orthopedic surgery, he performed thousands of surgical procedures during his training. He was named Chief Resident during his final year, participated in several research projects and lectures.
Following his residency training, Dr. Michel moved back to South Florida and can now be found at Integrative Foot and Ankle Center providing care to Palm Beach County residents. Dr. Michel is a foot & ankle surgeon who focuses on treating his patients with non-operative treatment options. He says he uses new technologies for the latest and most effective care of the patient’s foot and ankle problems. As a lower extremity specialist, he says his focus is delivering the best possible outcomes which result in an improved quality of life to all his patients. He says that he works closely with primary care physicians and other specialists to ensure the most effective treatment plan.
Dr. Michel currently serves as a staff member at Good Samaritan Medical Center, Palms West Hospital, JFK Medical Center where he is also involved in residency education / training, West Palm Hospital and Kindred Hospital. He is a member in good standing of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Florida Podiatric Medical Association and the T. Leroy Jefferson Medical Society.
Dr. Michel is proficient in speaking both French & Creole, and is known to strike up a foot tapping tune from time to time on his viola. He was a member of the 1996 University of Miami Honors Orchestra. His most accomplished role to date is being a husband and a father.
