We are now accepting student membership.

In September, the T. Leroy Jefferson Medical Society Board of Directors voted unanimously to open up membership to students. Previously, membership in the society was only available to adult healthcare professionals.

Student memberships will be divided into two categories: medical and grade-school students.

Membership costs for medical students and first-year interns will be $25. Grade-school students (K-12th grade) will pay a nominal fee of $5.

“This is a progressive move that will add diversity to our membership. It will also be beneficial to both student members and our traditional member base,” said Dr. Roger Duncan, TLJMS Board President.

Dr. Duncan added: “Many of our programs are aimed at creating a pipeline of students into healthcare industry, and what better way to help foster that goal than to allow students to become full-fledged members of our organization.”
