As president of the T. Leroy Jefferson Medical Society, I would like to thank you for taking the time to learn about our organization.
Since 1947, the T. Leroy Jefferson Medical Society and its strong core of members and volunteers have been invested in the health and education of underserved populations in Palm Beach County.
We have been nationally recognized for our outstanding programs in the community, including our annual career symposiums, health fairs, healthy living program, scholarships and student mentoring programs. In 2014 and 2015, we were recognized by our national organization, the National Medical Association, as Small Chapter of the year.
As African-American/Minority healthcare professionals, we have the opportunity to be role models, paving the way for the next generations and we have a duty to promote and advocate for diversity in the medical and science workplace. Our youth programs promote and provide guidance to students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare, science, and related fields.
I realize that many have come before me, and endured unbelievable hardship to afford me opportunities, and I have a duty to help others behind me.
It is our hope that this website will be a valuable resource for our members and a portal for health and wellness for underserved residents of Palm Beach County. Please explore and take advantage of our programs, resources and member benefits.
We hope you will be inspired to join us in pursuing our mission objectives. The community is depending on us all!
Roger L. Duncan, M.D.
